Caring for your new tattoo is just as important as getting the tattoo itself.

Here's the deal:

Keep the bandage on for about 2-8 hours after you get tattooed. When you take off the bandage, give your tattoo a good wash with hot soapy water. Make sure to use antibacterial soap and crank up the heat as high as you can handle. Using your finger tips, for about 30 seconds, wash off all the petroleum jelly and plasma that your body is producing. It might look  silly string, but don't worry, just wash it off and don't be too gentle (NO washcloth/loofah/etc.)

Please be advised! While you're taking care of your tattoos, make sure all the products are UNSCENTED/FRAGRANCE FREE. This part is very important, because fragrance could cause irritation, which might lead to infection. So be aware

The next morning, wash your tattoo again the same way. After this second time, leave your tattoo alone. Wash ONLY after workout/being in a constant state of sweating. You can take showers still, just don't overwash it. This will prevent your tattoo to be scabby, the scabs tend to pull out ink and make your tattoo look discolored in spots.

If flaking or scabbing occurs, apply a pea size amount of non-scented lotion on the tattoo after day 4 or 5 after you get the tattoo. Use about 2-3 times a day in small amounts until your new tattoo is healed and all scabs fall off naturally. DO NOT PICK AT SCABS.
